Standard PC health check
All computers require some regular maintenance for best performance. Over time trash files build up on your hard drive, adding and removing software creates a messy hard drive, and dust accumulates inside your computer's case. All these factors reduce the efficiency of your computer – and result in performance drops, such as files taking longer to open and your computer taking a long time to boot up. To keep your computer working efficiently, we recommend an annual PC Health Check.
Health Check includes:

Memory & HDD upgrades
Year on year software and games demand ever more of your computer's resources and after a while that state-of-the-art machine you bought runs slower and slower, as your hard drive fills up with photos, videos, and mp3s. Added to this many computers bought from out-of-town box shifters are often underpowered and have a hard disc drive (HDD) that's nowhere near big enough – this is often how the prices are kept down.
Cambridge PC Hospital carries out memory upgrades and the installation of new hard drives for you. We will clone your existing drive to a new one and offer advice on a range of backup strategies.

Fixed price RAM upgrade: £12 plus parts in house
Fixed price second HDD installation: £16 plus parts in house
Data recovery
If you've deleted something that you shouldn't have or encountered some kind of glitch and lost a previously saved document all might not be lost. We advise that you stop using the machine immediately and turn it off, to minimize the chances of the data being overwritten and stamped into oblivion.
Data clearance
The flip side: just as sometimes you want information recovered, occasionally you also want your data obliterated – such as before selling or disposing of a computer.
CBPCH can provide a range of services to help you prepare for this, from complete physical destruction of discs to thoroughly overstamping your drives prior to your computers being sold.

IT on demand
We know that there are lots of small businesses out there for whom computers are a vital part of doing business. We understand that many of these businesses cannot justify the expense of employing an IT person, nor do they have the permanent need of one.
CBPCH understands this circumstance and undertakes service agreements with companies to provide a number of hours of IT support per week on a recurring basis. These hours can be used against a variety of services, such as having us come in and perform network backups, do essential maintenance on machines, run health checks, monitor hardware usage, and advise on general IT areas.
